Alex Palou Opens the IndyCar Season with Another Victory

The 3-time IndyCar Series champion Alex Palou opened the 2025 season with a stellar victory at St. Petersburg on Sunday, after beating his Chip Ganassi teammate Scott Dixon out of the pits on the final green flag pit stop.

This is the 12th career win for the reigning champion and his first on the streets of St. Petersburg.

Dixon, who had no spotter or radio communication for the entire race, was able to get past Josef Newgarden on the final circuit as the No. 2 Team Penske Chevrolet was running on fumes.

Pole-sitter, Scott McLaughlin, placed fourth with Kyle Kirkwood P5.
