A HOMETOWN VICTORY FOR CHASE ELLIOTT!

With a late surge to the front in the closing laps, Chase Elliott passed Brad Keselowski entering Turn 1 on the last lap to conquer his home track of Atlanta Motor Speedway for his first points victory of the year!

For Elliott, this win ends a 44-race winless streak dating back to last year’s win at Texas Motor Speedway. This is also Elliott’s 20th career Cup Series victory and his second win at his hometown track.

Brad Keselowski, who led the most laps in tonight’s race, was so close to his first trophy of the year but has to settle for second.

Alex Bowman, who helped push his Hendrick Motorsports teammate to the victory, takes third just a few inches behind the No. 6 of Keselowski.

F1: A 1-2 FINISH FOR MCLAREN IN AUSTRIA!

After winning the pole on Saturday, Lando Norris defended the lead from his McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri throughout the race to out pace him in the end for the victory in Austria at the Red Bull Ring.

This is the seventh career win for Norris.

Piastri would finish second, giving McLaren another 1-2 result.

This is also the first win for McLaren in Austria since 2001.

Charles Leclerc for Ferrari took the final step on the podium almost 18 seconds behind the two McLaren drivers.

Piastri still remains the points leader by just 15 over Norris.

On the opening lap, Kimi Antonelli got it all wrong, entering Turn 3, locking up the brakes, and slamming into Max Verstappen.

The No. 1 Red Bull and the No. 12 Mercedes didn’t even run a full lap before having to retire with their severely damaged cars.

As a result, Antonelli will be penalized three grid positions at Silverstone and two penalty points.

Before the race ever began, Carlos Sainz retired with mechanical issues.
