NASCAR: IT’S A WEEKEND SWEEP FOR SHANE VAN GISBERGEN IN CHICAGO!
Two poles and two victories! Shane Van Gisbergen completed the weekend sweep on the streets of Chicago after dominating the second half of the Cup Series race on Sunday! ππ³πΏ
This is the second win of the year for SVG and the third of his career. All three career wins have been on road courses.
With two turns remaining coming to the white flag, Cody Ware got trapped in the tire barriers, but NASCAR waited to throw the yellow flag after SVG had taken the white flag.
With the caution on the final lap, fans were unable to see a race to the checkered flag for second place between Ty Gibbs and Tyler Reddick. It would have been an exciting finish for the runner-up position.
Severe weather was on the way to Chicago, so perhaps that’s the reason for NASCAR not throwing the yellow flag before the white flag.

F1: LANDO WINS AT HOME AFTER TEAMMATES PENALTY!
Lando Norris won a very wet and wild British Grand Prix on Sunday after his McLaren teammate was penalized for a safety car violation! ππ¬π§
For Norris, it’s his first triumph in his home race and the eighth victory of his career.
Oscar Piastri, who took the lead from pole-sitter Max Verstappen on lap 8 and dominated most of the race, crossed the finish line in second.
Piastri was handed a 10-second time penalty after a safety car infringement. With 8 laps to go, Piastri pitted and served his penalty. That would hand the win over to his McLaren teammate.
It was the fifth 1-2 finish for McLaren in 2025.

INDYCAR: DIXON WINS AT MID-OHIO AFTER A SURPRISING MISTAKE BY PALOU!
While leading with just 6 laps to go in Sunday’s “Honda 200,” Alex Palou, made an uncharacteristic mistake and slid off track, allowing his Chip Ganassi Racing teammate Scott Dixon to sneak on by for the lead and ultimately the victory at Mid-Ohio! π
It’s the first win for Dixon in 2025, adding to his record of 21 straight seasons with at least one win.
For the 44-year-old Dixon, this is also his seventh win at Mid-Ohio and the 59th victory of his legendary career!
A.J. Foyt has the most wins in IndyCar with 67. Dixon sits second on the all-time wins list.
That surprising mistake for Palou will see him finish second, followed by Christian Lundgaard on the last podium step.
Again, Team Penske continues to struggle. Josef Newgarden and Will Power suffered damage on the opening lap, leading to their retirement, and Scott McLaughlin brought it home in 23rd. When will their luck turn around?
Palou now holds a 113-point lead in the championship ahead of Kyle Kirkwood.
