In the NASCAR Xfinity Series, Kyle Larson dominated, but on the final restart, Larson got a bad push from Sam Mayer, causing the No. 17 to wiggle, opening the door for a surprise victory for Justin Allgaier! π
It was the second straight win for Allgaier and the 27th of his career, placing him ninth on the all-time wins list in the Xfinity Series.
Allgaier also took home the $100,000 Dash4Cash prize.
Sam Mayer had the second best car all day and that’s where he would finish with Austin Hill, Kyle Larson, Sheldon Creed, Jesse Love, Brandon Jones, Nick Sanchez, Daniel Dye and Carson Kvapil completing the top ten.
In the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, Kyle Larson came back from a spin with 40 laps to go to take the lead away from Layne Riggs with two laps remaining to win Friday night’s Craftsman Truck Series race at Homestead-Miami Speedway! π
For Larson, it’s his fourth career win in a truck.
Corey Heim dominated the event but had his truck unexpectedly turn off twice within the closing laps, ending his hopes of sweeping all three stages.
Layne Riggs, Corey Heim, Tyler Ankrum, Daniel Hemric, Ross Chastain, Jake Garcia, Chandler Smith, Grant Enfinger and Kaden Honeycutt rounded out the top ten.
MCLAREN RUN AWAY WITH CHINESE GRAND PRIX VICTORY!
McLaren qualified 1-2, and McLaren finished 1-2. From the pole, Oscar Piastri had a perfect race from start to finish to win the race in Shanghai for his third career F1 triumph! π
Piastri’s teammate Lando Norris was struggling with his brakes in the closing laps. Norris was extremely worried with his brakes getting worse and worse with every turn. If the race was just a couple of corners longer, Norris would’ve lost P2 to George Russell.
Fortunately, Norris had just enough pace to give his team a 1-2 finish with Russell standing on the final step of the podium for Mercedes.
Max Verstappen crossed the line fourth with Charles Leclerc somehow ending up fifth with a broken front wing he suffered on the opening lap.
With two races in the books, Norris leads the points by 8 markers over Verstappen.
