Penske Powers to Second Consecutive Daytona Victory at the 2025 Rolex 24

PENSKE POWERS TO SECOND DAYTONA VICTORY IN SUCCESSION: The 63rd running of the Rolex 24 Hour Race at #Daytona transpired this past weekend kicking off the 2025 racing season!

#PorschePenske Motorsports dominated the ladder portion of the event by leading the most laps in the closing hours on their way to a second consecutive victory and the third overall for team owner #RogerPenske.

The No. 7 Porsche 963, driven by Felipe Nasr, Nick Tandy, and Laurens Vanthoor, claimed the overall Grand Touring Prototype class trophy for the second year in succession. Nasr was the only racer who was on the same winning team last year.

Penske almost completed a 1-2 team sweep. However, Tom Blomqvist, along with co-drivers Scott Dixon, Felix Rosenqvist and Colin Braun, finished P2 for the second year in a row driving the No. 60 Acura Meyer Shank Racing Acura ARX-06.

Penske’s No. 6 Porsche 963, driven by Matt Campbell, Kevin Estre, and Mathieu Jaminet, were third on the overall podium.

In LMP2, Tower Motorsports took the class win with Sebastien Bourdais, Sebastian Alvarez, Job Van Uitert, and John Farano, sharing driving duties of the No. 8 ORECA LMP2 07.

American muscle were the big winners in GTD Pro and GTD.

The No. 65 Ford Mustang GT3 of Multimatic Motorsports scored their first IMSA victory, with Dennis Olsen crossing the finish line first with co-drivers Christopher Mies and Frederic Vervisch cheering him on from the pits.

In GTD, the No. 13 Z06 Corvette hoisted the trophy with AWA Racing and their drivers Matt Bell, Lars Kern, Orey Fidani, and Marvin Kirchhoefer.

At the checkered flag, the overall winners completed 781 laps and 2,780 miles (4,470km).

For the whole 61 car field, the cars completed an astonishing 134,877 combined miles.

UPDATE: A SHAKE UP IN LMP2: Three days after the end of the race, IMSA officials have announced that the victors in LMP2, the No. 8 of Tower Motorsports have been disqualified after failing an extended technical inspection.

The No. 22 United Autosports USA Oreca 07 driven by co-drivers Paul Di Resta, James Allen, Daniel Goldburg, and Rasmus Lindh, who started from pole, have been promoted from second place to the winners in LMP2.
